Music Educator

With a DMA in Music Performance, Dr. Anthony Rohr works with singers of all ages and experience levels across a range of styles, including opera, musical theatre, choral, and contemporary repertoire.

  • Dr. Anthony Rohr has been an active music educator for over a decade and currently serves as an adjunct professor of voice at Dickinson State University. His previous higher education appointments include teaching at Valley City State University and Augustana College.

    In addition to his collegiate teaching, Dr. Rohr has served on the voice faculty at both International Music Camp and Rushmore Music Camp, where he has taught eight combined seasons working with developing young singers.

    Dr. Rohr also maintains a private voice studio, teaching both virtually and in person in Fargo, North Dakota. He received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Kansas, where he studied under Dr. John Stephens.

  • Dr. Rohr’s teaching begins with a foundation of healthy singing, grounded in body alignment, efficient breath coordination, and a balanced tonal core.

    From this technical foundation, instruction expands into stylistic awareness and expressive choices, supporting both artistic growth and vocal longevity.

  • Students from all backgrounds are welcome in Dr. Rohr’s studio. Whatever a student’s aspirations may be, lessons focus on setting achievable goals and developing collaborative plans that support steady growth and artistic confidence. Lessons are designed to meet students where they are while encouraging growth through consistent practice and curiosity.
